Kyiv: Russia fired 36 ballistic missiles and 172 drones at Ukraine, hitting energy sites in Kyiv and 12 regions.

Power, water and heat failed in the capital; homes, a bridge and a kindergarten were damaged. Nine people, including a child, were hurt.

As Russia tries to black out Ukraine ahead of talks, Kyiv urges stronger US aid, bipartisan congressional support and tougher sanctions.

Zelenskyy warns against Russia-Europe security deal

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has warned that any attempt to discuss a new security framework in Europe without first addressing how to end the Russia-Ukraine war could be "dangerous", particularly for the European Union (EU), as Ukraine, the United States and Russia prepare for working-level trilateral talks within a week.

In a CNN interview on Friday (local time), Zelenskyy said he was not aware of all the details of a potential new security framework proposed by US President Donald Trump but cautioned against discussions that could sideline efforts to end the ongoing conflict.

"When they do not want to speak about how to end this war, I mean Russia, they want to start with a new security infrastructure in Europe. It's dangerous," Zelenskyy said.
